When the Atricom office building was inaugurated in 1990, it was considered something special in the Niederrad business district, since it was not just another purely functional, unadorned high-rise. The architects, Ernst Sieverts, Dieter Schapitz and Dieter Reichel, had – in the spirit of the eighties – designed a building in which work should be fun.
Imagination – Precision – Mobility
The building consists of three x-shaped structures and has a strikingly large, glazed entrance hall, which is 50 metres in height and planted with greenery. A huge, dynamic sculpture, 22 metres tall, created by film designer Rolf Zehetbauer, fills the hall. The mosaic trees symbolise the terms “imagination – precision – mobility”. Six express elevators shoot up and down the walls of the hall, serving the eleven floors of the office building – a spectacle that can be followed from the cafeteria below.

In the spirit of the original architectural design, the Atricom office building has been given a new, modern branding. The ground floor with its imposing entrance hall, and the basement, which is naturally lit by the generously proportioned rotunda, have been carefully renovated in a modern style and in accordance with monument conservation criteria. The fire protection and technical systems have also been extensively renewed.
