The office building, built in the heart of Nuremberg’s city center in 1977 near the Kornmarkt and the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, served as the headquarters of Commerzbank AG until plans to repurpose it were completed in 2014. Over the course of an 18-month renovation, from March 2015 to October 2016, the building was stripped down to its shell. One and a half stories were then added as part of the building’s conversion into an ultramodern superior apartment hotel for Australia’s Adina Group. Generous ceiling heights with exposed concrete and the incorporation of Commerzbank’s vintage furniture give the property a historical connection to its past life.
