Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski, Dresden – Von Cosel 3.0

Augustus the Strong had the Taschenbergpalais built for his mistress Anna Constantia, the Countess of Cosel, between 1705 and 1711 by the famous architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. It served as the Countess of Cosel’s residence and societal hub.

We worked for the Taschenbergpalais with a fantastic team for two and a half years. The core refurbishment of the guest rooms and the entire lobby on the first floor has proved a major success. The historical heritage of the building has been preserved and shines in new splendour. The modern amenities and luxurious furnishings of the 211 hotel rooms, signature suites and the magnificent Royal Suite meet the high expectations of guests. It was an exhausting, challenging and occasionally stressful time. However, our pleasure in and pride at what we have achieved and this absolutely unique product outweigh all else.

Art has always been a subject close to our hearts. The all-pervasive narrative of the Countess of Cosel inspired us to portray the Countess of Cosel 3.0 in the form of staged photography. Our long-standing friend and photographic artist Helen Sobiralski was immediately thrilled by this idea. Lara Nachtigall stood as the model, Katharina McCormack was responsible for make-up and Christina van Zon for styling, with Thijsiena Marx acting as the photographic assistant.
